Lake Day

I have been wanting to go swimming somewhere with the kids since the weather got warm. Since we don't really live near a beach, we found a lake nearby that we really ended up liking. They have a huge grassy area for the "beach" (as well as a small strip of sand), so there was a ton of people there but it really didn't seem crowded because it was spread out. They have a concession stand and clean restroom, lots of picnic areas, and of course lots of room to swim.

Abi enjoyed the water as long as I went out with her. Leah proved to be a real fish, going way out with Daddy in her float and swimming all around. Andrew went out a bit too but not too far. They all got cold easily and didn't play long. They played in the sand a little and then we decided to go rent a pedal boat.

The pedal boats were fairly cheap so we just went for about half an hour. I failed to think about the fact that I would have to pedal the boat at 7 months pregnant, but it ended up being not so bad (only when the speed boats would go by and cause a current!). The kids sat perfectly still the whole time and Abi almost fell asleep. They really enjoyed it.

Afterward we went to get ice cream, another fun family summer activity we've grown to love. I loved seeing these kids so happy and spending time together as a family!
