Every year we like to get into one of Vermont's many beautiful State Parks and take a little hike. We've done this hike before, a couple years ago, to a pretty little waterfall, but we decided to try it again. It's always easy and there's lots of fun things to see on the way. The kids are always good troopers when it comes to hiking in the woods.
Jacob's favorite part was throwing rocks in the stream. He carried two or three in each hand almost the whole way with the promise of getting to water at the end of the hike. We got there and he wanted to do more and more rocks, bigger and bigger each time.
Last weekend Brett and I went on our annual Pastor's Retreat, sponsored each year for free by Phil Waldrep Ministries for all pastors in New England. We love the short little getaway and the encouragement and fun they provide. This year was in New Hampshire, at a beautiful hotel in the White Mountains. We always eat somewhere nice on the way.
This year the hotel was especially nice and had an amazing view. They had an indoor heated pool and hot tub, plenty of quiet places to sit and look at the view, and even free valet parking. We were spoiled.
The Friday night banquet is always really good food and they have some sort of entertainment. This year we enjoyed State Feud-- just like Family Feud only the teams were made up of people from a particular state in New England. Vermont didn't do well, but it really was fun to watch! We laughed a lot.
