Last week we transitioned Andrew into his new toddler bed. We were given a convertible crib from someone at church and it worked out to fit great in Leah’s room. He did so well in the transition! The first night both of them got up several times—not crying, just wandering around because they could. Leah would try to get Andrew to stay in his bed, but of course he does what he wants. The second night they got up even less and by the third night, he didn’t get up at all. Right now he’s still in his crib for nap time, since Leah doesn’t really nap, but we’re going to work on that soon, so the baby will have her own room by the time she arrives!
He has fallen out once or twice, since there is no railing on this side, but we have since gotten a bed rail that goes under the mattress so we can remedy that problem!
We’re still in transition as far as decorating so right now it’s still very much a girl’s room, but we’re going to hunt for new bedding & drapery so it feels like a room for a boy and a girl.
Even though Leah was not happy about us having to move her bed somewhere new, she adjusted quickly, and I think she really was excited about having her little brother in the room with her. She loves to read to him before bed (and throughout the day) and take care of him like his little mommy.
