Thanksgiving 2017

We've really come to enjoy having a quiet Thanksgiving with just our family. It makes the day relaxing and a good time to reflect on what we are thankful for. Of course we love talking to our family on that day, too!
Leah showed a lot of interest in helping cook this year, so she really did do a lot. Brett cooks the turkey & stuffing, while I cooked the side dishes & dessert.

Abi & Andrew helped me roll peanut butter balls for Buckeyes.

We take a shot like this every year. Jacob has joined us at the table this year! He really only ate turkey and maybe a little mashed potatoes for dinner. He doesn't care much about food.

The day after Thanksgiving is our much-anticipated Christmas Tree Day! We head to the Christmas tree farm early to pick out the perfect tree. Then we take it home and get out all the decorations. We always have pizza dip & chips for "lunch" and snack most of the day. We also watch Charlie Brown's Christmas. The kids look forward to it every year and our house ends up feeling so Christmas-y by the end of the day!

This year Jacob is getting into more trouble with the tree than last year, which is opposite of what we would have thought. He really just wants to play with the "balls" that are hanging right at his eye level! Thankfully he hasn't really pulled any off or broken any!
