Leah's Dance Recital 2017

Leah's 5th year of dance has come and gone. I can't believe how much she's improved and how talented she is actually getting at this sport. She loves to dance and has shown real potential. This year her class only had three students and her teacher, an older lady with nearly 40 years of dance experience, taught them at almost an adult level. I definitely saw a change from the beginning of the year to the end and was really impressed with how well they all danced.

Gone are the days of the cute little tutus and flowery headbands. This year the jazz number had to do with the Millenium, so it was a disco ball shirt with plain black pants. And a tuxedo top with black pants for the tap number, too. We didn't even have to do a dance bun for the hair this year-- makes me a little sad, but it was certainly easier and more cost-effective!

Here is the jazz dance in its entirety. You can see how each of the kids was able to get a chance in the spotlight, and Leah didn't miss a step:

And here is the tap number with the teen and adult classes. It is an old fashioned song from the 20's. It even sounds like they're in step!
