This year we got to celebrate Christmas a little early at my mom & dad’s house. It was so fun to have all my family come to open gifts, have a big meal, play cards & just enjoy each other’s company. The kids had to see all the presents under the tree for 2 whole days before they could open them, so they were so excited when Saturday finally came around!
One of Leah’s favorite gifts was from Uncle BJ & Jenipher: a Sleeping Beauty costume (including a crown and shoes!).
And Andrew’s was from BJ & Jenipher, too: a huge firetruck. He didn’t even want to do anymore presents—he just wanted to go and “vroom” his truck.
Their big gift was a big easel with a chalkboard on one side & dry erase board on the other. They played with it for a long time that day!
Baby Abigail wasn’t really sure what was going on, but she knew she liked the jingle bell. And lots of people to hold her.
Leah zoomed through opening her gifts, exclaiming over everything but moving on quickly. Andrew seemed a little more tentative and asked for help unwrapping his. He wanted to play with everything he opened and we had to prompt him that he had more to open.
This is definitely something I would have done as a kid—lining up & organizing all her gifts.
After all the mayhem, everyone was exhausted!
This beautiful little Christmas angel, at not quite 8 weeks old, slept 8 hours straight Friday night while we were there (the 21st) and then the next 2 nights in a row! My best sleeper by far. She also traveled well to the beach—slept the whole 3 1/2 hour trip there and back!
