We've been having all kinds of fun and summer has only just begun! The first weekend in June, I took Leah on her first long car ride (9 hours) to visit my friend Elizabeth in Tennessee. Our other friend Mary Jo went with me (and I was so glad to have an extra pair of hands in the car!). We had such a great time together! We were roommates my last year of Seminary and haven't really been together much since then. Of course, we've added 2 1/2 kids since then...
We went to a park where they had fountains for the kids to play in-- she loved being in the water, and loved running over to where we were sitting to put water on us! We also rode a carousel while we were there. (The whole time leading up to the ride, she kept saying "horsey," but when I went to put her on, she did NOT want to sit down. I ended up holding her on my hip the whole ride like this. But she still really liked it.)

I got to see Leah interact with Elizabeth's 2 month old, Amelia. She was pretty gentle for the most part, but really jealous when Mary Jo (her new friend) or I held Amelia, and mad at the baby when she was in the bouncer seat Leah had claimed as her own. For the most part, she excitedly pointed to her, saying "baby! baby!" but more or less stayed away. She really preferred to chase the cat around the house!
Leah is staying with my friend Sarah this summer while I work, and it is turning out to be a great arrangement! Leah is constantly asking for "Sarah" and "Sam" (her dog). She has a car seat for her, so they've already done all sorts of fun things. They met some of Sarah's friends at a park, where Leah made a new boyfriend named Caleb (Brett's getting his gun all ready!). She's got a box "house" for sleeping in, she's played outside in the water, she's helped walk the dog, and all kinds of good fun!
