He is a very busy boy, always kicking or moving or rolling. He gets in his bathtub and immediately begins kicking his feet like he's trying to propel it into space. He gets on his playmat and immediately rolls over and starts trying to reach his toys. He wants to crawl so badly. He grabs for food or dishes at the table. Or he grabs faces. He gets bored very quickly and when he's awake he requires a lot of attention. Most of the time his brother or sisters will keep him entertained but then I have to hold him a lot too or change his location to keep him from getting fussy. He really loves to be held. And he also loves to scream or talk-- just make noise.
Since he figured out he doesn't mind sleeping on his tummy, and since he began solid foods, he's slept through the night (11 or 12 hours straight) almost every night. There are still nights he wakes up at 11 or 12 to eat, and many mornings he wakes up at 5, cries for a little while then goes back to sleep, but most nights he can go straight through.
We haven't had his check-up yet, but just from weighing him here at home, I believe he's up to 21 pounds now! (Abi is only 29, for a frame of reference!) He won't stop growing! He wears 12 month clothes (and even those he can't fit in if they're tighter pants) and is almost outgrowing the size 3 diapers!
He likes pretty much any baby food, but every time he tries something new, he makes this face. After the initial taste, he opens his mouth for more.
He has never been a fan of being outside because he hates the wind and cold on his face. The first warm day we had recently I tried putting him in the swing. He was indifferent. No excitement from my generally happy boy. He just doesn't like being outside now.
His little hair is growing in curly in the back, and his eyes are still blue. So he will have a look all his own. He has finally outgrown the dry patchy red skin on his face. Six months is such a fun age.
